Since everyone else is posting about their units, thought I'd bravely open myself to potential ridicule and ask, are there any other ex Int Corps people on the site, or am I the only one?

mate maybe you can help me, I'm looking at joining back up im ex infantry worked in Iraq on the FCO contract since leaving and have done a foundation degree in security consultancy. The CP world seems to be going very slow and joining the int corps is aa option im thinking about. Whats your view on the corps.

Cheers.

A part of me- the ex Int Corps NCO- says good choice, plenty of career progression etc, etc. Another part of me- ex Int Corps NCO- says are you mad?
The Int Corps can be a good career choice, to be honest they take all sorts, but it can also be a complete nightmare. I enjoyed my time in the Int Corps, but I spent most of my time on the "Darkside" of things and on various attachments and so missed most of the bone stuff the Int Corps normally does to it's personnel.
With you having had ops experience and done a foundation degree I would recommend trying to be an officer- it's marginally less painful in the Int Corps, and their seems to be less stigma attached to joining as an officer following enlisted service compared to other Corps and Regiments.
But that being said if you get on the right career path in the Int Corps then it can be great and will stand you in good stead when you leave. I've been out for a few years now, so the best bet is to ask on the arrse forums, there are serving Int Corps members there who'll be able to give you more up to date info.
