Hi there, I am a Paramedic in the UK. I am also an ACLS instructor and IHCD Paramedic tutor. Spent some time recently working with the Royal Marines as a civilian contractor based at CTCRM and also Sennybridge covering high risk activities such as live fire excercises, tarzan assault course and grenade ranges.
I have just applied to MSU at Hereford (Territorials) and have been invited for a fitness test and assessment which I am not confident about but if I fail the fitnes then I have a place waiting on a MERT as a Paramedic. I have already been accredited to CMT1 based on being a Paramedic and have been offered fast track to Cpl starting with L/Cpl for a short time before being allowed to promote to full Cpl (following a command course) and will probably be doing some training at Keogh delivering courses to the CMTs (regular and TA).
I have been urged by the recruiter to apply for a commission as an MSO but would rather get at least one tour under my belt as a non commissioned rank before considering anything like this.
I would like to work in a private capacity in a hostile environment and would welcome any leads, information or advice from the board.
I currently run Paramedic and EMT courses for private persons wishing to qualify and if I can help anyone who wants to train as an EMT or Paramedic then please feel free to PM me.
