Hi guys

Does anyone have a pair of these and how are you finding them? or does anyone know of another company that do a similar boot?

Thanks

hey prestige, I own a pair of Magnum Shield 8.0 Brought them when they first hit the market really. For pretty much the entire first year I wore them non-stop.

To say these are probably the best boots ill ever own is a slight understatement.

Comfort - 10/10
Water proof - 10/10
Slip resistant - 9/10 (ice is a bugger to beat)
Weight - 9/10
Warmth - Wore them loads last winter and toes were never cold

Really I would just orgasm over these things they are so good. If you are looking for a protective toe boot then I would seriously say to get these. Ive had several and these are beyond amazing.

Mine are a little old now, but the sole has not deteriorated, the insole has had to be replaced (stated to die a little), laces are still original, at the rear of the heel the material started to go which caused me a massive blister - but fixed by black gaffer over the whole - sorted.

If you don't listen to anything I say on this forum because everything I say comes out my rear end, listen to this - they are top notch.

Brought mine from Gladstone Boots, they matched the price of anyone out there and delivery was dam fast despite having to order them in.

I take it you like the Magnums then Pyrene :D I've had a few pairs of classics and patrols , nice boots. I always tend to wear the soles out quick though , the rest of the boot stay in good condition but the soles are bald :( I'm using Viper boots at the moment , they've got a special piece in the arch for fast-roping (you never know when you need to do a heli infil!):D

2 pence worth, Altberg boots. You pay for what you get and they are fantastic. I own 2 pairs (desert and 3 season) and they are both fantastic. You can pretty much get a pair for any purpose be it waterborne, desert, jungle or extreme cold weather for places like Norway during the winter time. If you look after them they will last for years and Altberg even do a refurb service (re-lining, re-sole, eyelets replaced and any cracks/holes repaired). Alot of guys in the Mil use them including myself, when I was in of course.

Personally and for the past 3 yrs I have worn 5.11 Tactical boots, no need to break them in, very comfortable, very waterproof, and I am very very satisfied, what more could you ask for??

Depends what uour using them for.

To stand on a door magnums are perfectly fine. If I was tabbing over penny-fan, probably go for Altbergs. Festivals in the winter - get some Lowas.
