If some one is goin to work in Mexico, I guess it´s nice to know. A friend forward me this information´s.
No gringos with guns or ammo. One bullet puts you in a nasty jail for a long time. Use local subs....must be Mexican national to be armed....
There is an exception to this, if you're governmental and have made diplomatic arrangements through the relevant ministry. That is the ONLY exception....
Anyone telling you differently is either ignorant or attempting to get some money off of you.....
I was in Mexico for 2 years doing EP. Your white you don’t get a gun. If you are doing cross border runs the Mexican Army like to search white guys in big shiny SUV's....
NO freakin' weapons (of any kind), nor anything that could remotely be construed as being a weapon. I've worked cross-border details amigo, and this is a major league negativo.....
We were also told never to say that we were part of a "Security Detail" or whatever, as Americans are not legally allowed to work as "Security" in Mexico. We always just used the old, "I'm a driver" line.....
It is kind of funny though going back across, and the CBP guys get all mad because the windows in your Level VI armored SUV don't go down all the way .... The Federales and the Army hate gringos in armored up SUV's....
One round will get you 7 years presumptive. I have the regs in Spanish if anyone wants them.
Gringos are also supposed to have an FM3 to work security (or work at all for that matter).
