First Aid: The First Aid at Work (FAW) course is mandatory (The SIA recognises two courses, the FAW and the FPOS course) for those wanting to apply for a license from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) or anyone who is preparing to become the appointed First Aider at their place of work. It is not a TRAUMA MEDIC or EMERGENCY REMOTE MEDIC course, but the essentials required to be a H&SE First Aider.
Close Protection Operator:
This is the latest (March 2010) fully accredited (QCA) training course. The Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection meets part of the criteria required to gain an SIA Licence to Practise. However, NSC train candidates to a higher level than the SIA requires. The course includes 8 days of practical drills and exercises.
