HI,

My DS application went to awaiting decision/ready for decision stage on 03/05/2013 and still there and nothing happens. They said to me they currently waiting for the London head office to make a final decision on my application. The SIA customer service assistants told me the application can stay at this stage up to ten working days, now this is the thirteenth. Usually how long does it take for this part (I apply from overseas)? Terrible wait...

Thank you very much for your answer!

No worries mate,
for me it has been over 6 months now and still waiting.

Like Sworks mine took around 10 days, however I didn't apply oversees.
None the less I wouldn't be too concerned. Set a reasonable date in your head and if you still hear nothing try contacting them!

All the best!

-I got a letter today and the following was included...

-Your application is help up because we have an overseas criminal record but you are not translated...

-I sent my overseas criminal record with the official translation in April to the SIA OCC Processing center (from my country official, nation translator) and after three week they sent back to me and they said "document scanned thank you...'

-Now the SIA say they can not find/see the translation in the system and I have 21 days to send the official translation...

-They said I need to provide official translation from my embassy FROM LONDON... the problem is I live in overseas and THE KNOW THIS...

-This is totally DISCRIMINATION...

-DISGUSTING for £220... DISGUSTING...!!!

-My country is shit but the bureaus never do this with the PEOPLE...

I wrote a letter for them "...I unable to do this because I live in overseas..." "...with the biggest respect I try to meet with the SIA requirements..." etc... and I sent again the official translation... I hope this will help...

If there is anyone who could help me as a lawyer or a high position person IF THINGS GET WORSE... :( Please get in touch...

In exchange I will provide a beautiful summer holiday in Budapest for free! :) (joke) :)

Thank you very much!

Thirteen days isnt that bad for a wait. However unfortunately if they are asking for an official translation it would be for a reason ie they might not believe the one they recieved was genuine just wait and see what happens when they recieve the one you resent

Check back with them by phone and keep an eye on your application number and reference number the SIA issues. Ofter times they hand out new numbers and this messes up your whole application process since your files are spread out over several application processes.
Hope this is clear enough.

Thank you all of your answer! The SIA granted my license. I would like to know usually how long does it take to get my bagde? And how the SIA sent the badge via AirMail or via UPS? I apply from overseas. Thank you!
