Many operators are unaware that Bluetooth accessories are available for many digital radios. And it's not only the portable radios. There is also a Bluetooth kit available for the DM mobile radio complete with Bluetooth PTT. This means you can have your radio completely concealed in your vehicle and still use it with only a standard Bluetooth headset and discreet BT PTT.
With the range Bluetooth gives you, it is also possible to be a few metres away from your radio. So your portable could be in a carry bag or messenger bag down by your side and completely free of any wires connecting you to it.
It doesn't work in every situation, but BT accessories are common place in many environments and it is another tool you can have in your communications arsenal that doesn't cost the earth and gives you a larger degree of flexibility.
