What accountants are people using?

We will not be taking 5% off any client. Our fees for a Maritime client are fixed and there are no add-ons of any percentage.

As some of the others have pointed out on here you are better off going with an accountant with specialist knowledge of Mariners taxation.

The benefits of having a Ltd Co are down to whether you require a company or not. We are aware that some Maritime companies are insisting that you have to be a Ltd Company to work for them. You don't have to be a Ltd Company to claim Seafarers Earnings Deduction (SED) though.
 
My current one is actually UK Govt approved and goes by the name of HMRC, and they are VERY thorough...Trust me, they found money I'd actually forgotten I'd earned...

Then you will know how good they are within your industry when you have 50+ mutual contacts.
 
Look around your local ones, I us my local accountant and there very good they deal with seamen, off shore workers ect, so they know there job very well, they charge me £300 per year and its paid at the end of the year, as for the Ltd company bit I think there is no need. I'm registered as a none UK resident.
