The last I heard most police forces have a set number of officers they are willing to allow to join or carry on TA and Reserve Forces commitments.
Be careful of taking on too much here - the TA and RAF reserve commitment is quite high especially during your first few years as you have to...
Well going by my experience of breaking down on the M4 returning to depot - the vehicle ran out of fuel although the fuel gauge said we had plenty and we came to chugging halt!
I have to say, there was no way on this planet that I was staying in the vehicle. Feck the money - it's insured and...
As far as I'm concerned and after seeing the damage first hand in Bristol last night - as soon as you decide that it's ok to smash up cars and shops for no other reason than sheer boredom, all bets are off, all human rights waivered and you deserve what is coming to you be it a batton round the...
Why volunteer when you can do the decent thing and join up, do a bloody good job and get paid for it!?
If it's trigger time you want why don't you just do the same as all the other 13 year old kids (and me!) do........get yourself a PS3 and get on Call of Duty - Black Ops!?

you can still join the regs mind! They will take clerks and chefs upto a certain age and if you can bring a specialist trade they will take you on your own merit.
Once in, it's like a lot of other things - you have the opportunity to move around and get that experience you need - that too...
Just remember that if you join the TA - the time, the effort, the crap, the inevitable tours are all real aspects you need to take into consideration. A lot of people get plenty of CP work without any military or police experience so don't think it's a must have - more of a nice to have...
Whilst he's there I hope he undertakes a few CFT's whilst he's there - it looks like he's spent far too much time in scoff!
On a more serious note - there was / is a few roles within the RN (please correct me if I'm wrong anyone) which are or were normally reserved for women (not being sexist...
The first question any recruitment officer should ask is:
"If ordered would you be willing to take up arms for defence or attack in the line of your duty as a serviceman!?"
If the answer is no then tell them to go away and have a think about the job and role they are wanting to undertake...
Hi All,
Being dyslexic myself around reading, writting and information co-ordination I have to say that my biggest issue is around multiple choice exams and being able to look at the question, look at the potential answers and then lining that answer up with the score sheet (information...
Hi Mate,
I use EP4's for shooting and found them to be affordable, comfortable and very good at what they are designed to do. All my hearing tests come back 100% despite the amount of shooting I do so on that note - I really can't fault them. They are designed to be disposable mind you so...
The most recognised industry best practice testing training for all types comes from ISEB (although others are available!):
ISEB | Professionals | Qualifications, Training, Careers | BCS - The Chartered Institute for IT
If you want something more specific then they will probably be able to...
It might be my imagination but I recieved a video from Ronin South Africa when I was looking at doing my course. This was 2005 mind you.
On their video, they actually stated and showed a fitness test prior to the start of the course that everyone had to do and if you failed......you're binned...
Before the fitness test an aptitude test would be more benifical.
Fitness wise, I'm not so sure. Some of the most un-healthy and un-fit people I know, are soem of the most switched on. Plus, there is a place for the bigger lad / gal in the team who would more than likely fail a fitness test...
The FAC is there to be bugged and answer questions on local rules and a law that is very mis-understood and not at all understood by the people meant to be upholding it.
If....for any reason.... it is incorrect and you get stopped by the plod and it's wrong, or they don't understand it (they...
