Bluetooth for Radio?

Keep me updated

anyone used Bluetooth connnections and headsets for radios?
I've been seeing for sale on various websites and wondered what they were like. The price is a bit steep- they'd have to pretty awesome to be worthwhile.

Not used this before, but would also like to know if anyone has used these and are they any good. Like others say on different threads Buy Try then decide if no good send it back. You won't lose out on any money.

The question is :

Why would you want to this earpiece? :)

You have a box on the end of it at either end.

maybe not that one specifically- many of them are designed to work with any bluetooth headset, so you could have just one headset for phone and radio and that setup is completely wire free.

also the next generation radios could easily have bluetooth built in, so even less boxes required

Just something else you have to charge. You are also adding more processing to the signal, and creating another opportunity for interference. IMO just a gimmick

The only advantage that I can see if being able to carry the radio in a seperate bag, or leave it on a table say (within 10 metres) and nobody will see wires.

1) Fairly east to "pair" with a bluetooth device, so really, really insecure.
2) BT EATS all battery power so your radio battery life will be reduced.
