Current snowden/guardian/Miranda situation

Just an acid test question regarding the continued situation. First off apologies because I'm pre judging due to the nature of this forums clientele and I can understand that because its public your thoughts cannot be forthcoming. But..what are your views, not just on snowden but the reaction that others have made and the decisions that have been taken. If you can point me towards a place where there is a considered discussion then I would be grateful because I feel like I'm being bombarded with information and I don't feel I have...well any idea TBH to judge the situation. Again thanks.

My take on the story. Hope it helps.

Snowden seems to have nicked, with relative ease, some "sensitive stuff" from the Americans. He does a runner to Russia and on the way sells his story and the info to a Guardian Journalist and some of it gets published.

Even the Guardian bulks at publishing some of the material and after a visit from government officials computer hard drives at the Guardian are destroyed. A story the Guardian at first kept quiet. Maybe they were not that bothered as they knew about a copy that was in Berlin with friend of Snowden.

Journalist, who is living in safe Brazil, sends boyfriend, courtesy of the Guardian, off to Berlin to collect some more "sensitive stuff". On his way back via London he gets pulled by the American/British security. They relieve him of his computers and after a long chat he hands over his passwords and is allowed back to Brazil.

My take on it, is first what he has done is illegal & unprofessional, and in such cases it only makes things worse than they are.

In regards to the reporter, well like most reporters they just want what sells and only dirt sells. For example the Chandlers, when they where held hostage for so long and the UK did nothing, this was marketable dirty that would sell papers. Then when it was over no one could careless. This is the same thing, they report on what they feel is wrong based on their own lack of experiences but they seem to leave out what good this has done.

Unfortunately the US was not working alone, there are many OGA's from other nations who work these projects and benefit from the outcome. Everything that takes place right now is only what is allowed to take place right now. All criminals will be held accountable soon enough for their actions.

I do always find it funny how people want to benefit from the security these programs provide, but they think everyone should know what is going on and when they do not know they get angry and do dumb things like this. So if something is to go wrong because of all this then I hope it at least begins with their families first, I hope it takes a while and I hope it is very painful; because their actions could have the same affect on innocent lives that do enjoy the security that comes from these programs.

These tards though are not the only ones who where wrong in this situation. The governments supporting and running the programs are also at fault as well, but not for wanting to protect their nations but for allowing something as stupid as Labour Laws & Human Rights dictate as to whom they can hire. These Defense level projects should not be subject to the same laws, and often enough are vetted properly but they really screwed up this time.

Oh well, like all Defense programs that may seem questionable to the public eye, this program is just old news and now is the perfect opportunity to close a few projects, readjust manpower and set a new proposal in front of the IOC.
