Daily routine in the Legion.

Hi Guys,

Would it be possible for a serving/ex Legionaire to offer an honest description of the daily life one could expect to experience in the Legion.

Many Thanks.

Hello Roey,

Ok, a typical day, once in the regiment...

Wake up call-05:45
Morning muster-06:00
Breakfast
Shave, get into correct clothing...
Company/Regimental cleaning till 07:00
Company muster-07:15
General work/Fitness until approx 11:00
Lunch
Company/Regimental Cleaning-12:00 till finished!
Company muster-13:15
Work/Fitness till 17:30
17:30-05:45-Free time (Cannot leave base)

This daily routine is a general day for a Legionnaire/1st Class Legionnaire...
Lots of work, Lots of cleaning.

The daily routine during training is much harder an explination as you have Pre-selection at Fort de Nogant, selection at Aubagne, and Training at Castelnaudary.
Earlier start, later finish (in a nutshell).

To be honest, the Legion is a very hard life for the First 12 months, it normally makes or breaks a Legionnaire.. what im trying to say is... if you dont have any real world problems and your not running from anything, join the Armed forces designated for your own country.
Or... just do what i did... Join!!

Good luck

I finish work, have some grub, then about 19.30 walk around the corner. Go through the door, say hi to a few other 'Legonaires' then see who's getting the beers in.

I don't understand why everybody says it's that tough - I've never had to train particularly hard to get into the Royal British Legion :D
