G4S contractor beaten by angry mob in Iraq (VIDEO)

A mate of mine was there and there were no flags pulled down ripped down, I know the full story and no it wasn't G4 who actually started it..

Just out of curiosity, why did your mate just stand by and watch, why did your mate not get involved? For you to make such a statement would mean that your mate did in fact wittiness the entire event or it would only be hearsay.

So it tells me one of two things.

1.) Your mate did not see the entire event, but could have been on ground during the event and then just gathered the embellished politically washed version(s) of the event in the mess.

OR

2.) Your mate watched the event and did not get involved.

I have seen contractors singled out in the past for things they have done, I have even singled a few out as well my self. No one here on CPW is witch hunting, the witch hunt is in the video (only saw the 8 minute one) and it is clear as to whom the shower shoe mafia was after.

But if it was not a witch at all then perhaps you would not mind sharing your mates name and any other names you can get for us who saw the thing. Some of us do not like working with cowards and anyone who stood by and just watched an "innocent" person get slapped around and did nothing does not belong down range. Race, Religion, Nationality and Political Preference does not matter when someone needs help, also does not matter when someone needs to get lit up either.

But it looks like an isolated target.

Just one more thing while your defending that company, there are many people who flag G4S in their systems. I do not hire anyone with a career history related to them, people who work for them knowingly take part in all the crap G4S dishes out. I once worked for a firm called Custer Battles for 11 months, as soon as I found out what they where doing my two teams and I walked within the hour. We have had no trouble finding work since then but only because we walked, the rest of those people who worked for them have found it very hard getting on with their careers and many now work in other industries. Someone who knowingly works for a crap firm is indirectly supporting the actions of that firm, guilty by association.

Have fun with your Defend G4S campaign, sounds like thats all you got.

Or option 3)....
It was his mate getting the kicking?...
Custer Battles- that takes me back.
I was in the Rimal, Baggers and they were in the hotel up the street.
I remember very well the 1 way fire-fight that went down there one night, when they brassed everything up mistakenly thinking their hotel was under attack back in 03 (?).
Good choice moving on.

I was with them in 04, but are teams did not have central hub. We did not often run into other people working for them other than our suppliers, we where attached out to government organizations. Heard about their ghost fire fight, thats why none of us where shocked when we found out about the slavery and rolled right then. We did not even tell the firm, just let the gov POC know we where out and why and within an hour he transfered all our assets to a new assignment in the Ghan with another firm. The only use I have for a slaver is target practice, so I had to roll.

Sounds like this has turned into a turd polishing corporate exercise of Olympian proportions (oh, well couldn’t help that one could I?) when the FACTS are plain to see:
• B6 door seal breached
• No evidence of ANY SOP’s being followed
• Unarmed expat beaten without any real intervention
• Whole situation completely out of control
• Luck more than judgement saved this guy; anyone who spouts off anything different has clearly mastered the art of doing a handstand and throwing their voice out of their hoop

I take it that there is a record harvest of 'magic mushrooms' in the South of Iraq this year or maybe you are baking your own space-cakes perhaps?

By the way, PSC's have not used the terminology "ROE" for well over a decade now as this implies that the company operating to "Rules of Engagement" (as utilised by THE MILITARY) has scope -as the terminology so amply suggests - to "engage" with the enemy; hence the use of the terminology RUF.

Why don't you drop out of orbit and re-enter the earth's atmosphere for a bit...?

That is not entirely true about the ROE, there are still many firms who serve or liaise JSOC, CJSOFT, OGA's and so on and they do follow this.

Foreigners flee Iraq oil flare-ups: Workers leave after Shia fury erupts - Middle East - World - The Independent

The Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has called for the deportation of the unnamed British security man. Iraqi officials in Basra said he worked for the security firm G4S at a camp run by Schlumberger, the world’s largest oilfield services company. The camp is near the giant Rumaila field, close to the border with Kuwait, which produces a third of Iraq’s oil output. BP and China’s CNPC have been seeking rapidly to raise production at the field.

Accounts differ on exactly what happened, but there appear to have been at least two incidents when Shia oil workers and people living in nearby villages believed that images of their most venerated religious figures had been desecrated.

“A British employee took down a flag for Hussein and a picture of Imam Ali from the cars of the security company, and tore them down with a knife,” Ali Shaddad, a member of Basra’s provincial council, told Agence France-Presse. “This provoked a group of workers and they went and hit him repeatedly.”

At least part of this incident was caught on a video uploaded to YouTube, It shows a man in a flak jacket being dragged from a white vehicle and hit repeatedly by men in dark blue T-shirts, who carry long sticks and spades. He falls occasionally but generally manages to stay on his feet before he is rescued by Iraqi soldiers. In the background is the wall of a Schlumberger camp, topped with barbed wire.

An Iraqi field engineer employed by Schlumberger describes the incident, saying it started at 10am on Monday when an Iraqi driver working for the security team attached a Shia holy flag to the antenna of one of the vehicles. He was asked to remove it by the head of security and refused, so “the team leader jumped up on the car and he tear up [sic] which made the Iraqi driver and his colleagues [all Shia] to be angry”. They reportedly called in protesters from outside the company to join the attack.

bit of clarity perhaps?

The game is lost a long time before LNs starts attaching flags onto convoy vehicles and start to disobey direct orders from a TL...

not a lot of security in that compound .... yes that would be true mate.

It is really important to react in good time to quite small "indications"..

I recollect one "incident" I got into myself, when in Afghan with the army (I was a staff sergeant).

We were supporting a local police force for some time, living in their compound for a couple of weeks.. Eventually some of the younger lads (whom tried to be "friends" with the ANP) got too relaxed with the police men.. As a senior NCO I tried to keep this "friendship" between our parties to a minimum.. Which was noticed by the ANP guys as well.

To cut a long story short, at the end of the op we ended up being in the compound with only 2 vehicles and 6 men (3 senior officers, me and 2 drivers). The "head shed" had a powow and I sat outside their tent making some MRE food to myself. When I got it ready one of the ANP blokes (regular) walked up to my cooker and just took the food with a laugh.. My first thought was to knock him out.. My second and the third thought was the same.. Until I saw about a dozen if his mates "lurking around" the central yard..

That was one of the very few moments I got worried down there.. I gave the drivers orders over the net to prepare for an "normal" evac and went in to our colonels and told them that we need to leave right there and then. Which we did.

Next day we went back, with a little bit more personnel.. But that is another story.. :-)

Oh yes,so true.

A new rule is set up for BIA PSC's parking area : maku (no) Imam Hussein flag - maku (no) parking...who cares for ML..

So wtf we're here talking about????

Another example of muslims having the "master race" mentality. No matter how nice you are to them they believe that they can do what they want and that their culture and beliefs are superior to yours, this you cannot change although apologists and appeasers would have you think otherwise.

GPFinland has the right idea, treat them as hostile even if you are told they are not.

You're making slight assumptions.. I did not specifically comment on muslims..

I would keep an distance to any LNs working for my team. Religion has nothing to do with it..

Fair enough. However, as you were talking about Afghanistan and there are not too many non-muslim terrorists there............ :)

Of course, the same applies when you're in country without consent of the natives on the ground no matter where

Agree. ;-) But I were talking about the local police.. Which I would see (from experience) to be quite similar to other "developing" countries police forces..
