My Biggest Regret

Almost seven years since I joined this forum introducing myself, applying to join the army, RMP to be specific.

It has always been my biggest regret withdrawing my application, and I fear it's now too late for me to re-apply.

I'm 26, have just become a dad last month, my fitness is almost non-existent, and I think my partner would kill me if she knew I was even thinking about joining.

I'm not expecting anyone to have any answers for me, although I'm hoping that putting my thoughts on paper (or online), will help me to work this out - that being said, your comments are more than welcome!

Thanks,
Mayer

TA might be option. It’s an introduction for you and her.

I think that this may be the way to go.

I need to schedule an appointment at my local TA centre, as I'm concerned that I won't be able to specialise in CP as an RMPS, and not having done my A-levels, would not be able to apply as an RMPO.

I’ve just spoken with the Cannock TA centre, the sergeant gave me an insight into what being in the TA involves.

I’m going to meet him on January 9th and take it from there.

Thanks for the advice Oddjob.

It wont be an easy ride, but good on ya buddy. Fella from the electric came to read my meter, 6 foot thirteen with a mohecan and built like the proverbial, we got to talking, he was ex RMP.

Get a good score on your bacs, that's step one. I passed cant remember the score but then they asked me to run a mile, I smoke 60 a day, always have, I'm 44yrs old. 32 inch waist, I'll chase anyone down as long as its within 200 meters, after that you win.

What I'm saying is get in there while you can mate.

Good luck

Wish i was 26 again, vicarious existance, my wifes 27, keeps me fit ;) Went through my mid life crisis completely the wrong way, went from Alfa Romeo down to BMW, now I drive a Citroen diesel, it's all good.

Loads of BTDT guys here to help you.

Regards

Col
