Networking?

While I have been considering a move into CP work for a while I'm aware that it's not a case of just walking into a job. Networking seems to be the key. I know this might be a bit of a daft question to those experienced CP operators but how would a CP novice (like me) go about networking as I have no contacts in the CP world?

We are holding aseminar and networking event in Hereford on 3rd and 4th October. At the networking event in the evening there will be a number of CP representatives to talk to.

well mate you start off by doing jobs and meeting people then getting to keep in touch with certain people meeting them on job after job then you are networking so to speak

Thanks for the help. As i'm still serving as a regular in the British Army it's trying to find a time where my leave/weekends off coincide with the seminars. Got a funny feeling I'm going to have to wait until Christmas leave and hope for the best!

I best zip up my man suit, open my wallet and..wait...it's over halfway through the month. No squaddy has money left after the 15th. Gotta save it for baked beans and 12p noodles from the NAAFI.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
