New Army Resettlement Boll*cks

I have just gone through the resettelment getting on to the courses that i wanted and was told of 2 courses one at Catterick (Tasks) and the company i went with Anubis which was a outstanding course and the instructors were very good and would recommend them. I live near Catterick if you want to chat about them.

I am currently on terminating and have had no such problems with resttlemen choices and i am going to do Ronin South Africa on the 18th May, I just required to give the reasons for choosing that course over a uk based course, which are obvious- live firing, and first hand ambulance shifts, reputation. Just need to put your foot down mate its your resettlement and your responsibility not to fold under the pressure from others.

Hiya imsaltd

I am in the process of booking the Combined Course (using my final ELC) with Maritime Security Solutions Ltd, is there anything that would benefit me by booking the individual cses with you? thank you in advance.

Resettlement

I had a similar problem when I left it was the education centre who would not allow me to do a course. The rules may have changed but the officer in the education centre at Catterick when I was there was wrong and I ended up doing my course after all.
I don't know your personal circumstances but you have the right to choose your course as courses differ and some are rated in the industry and others you'll just get the who the f**k are they when someone sees your CV or if your dicussing your training. In addition, you have a right to decide what course is best for you. I may be wrong but has this guy got something to gain or is a mate with this person? My advice do the course you want it's your resettlement!

Actual Resettlement Officers (IEROs) are not serving officers, some are retired officers. So if someone in green tells you you cant do a course, its not their call to make. Speak to the IERO.
Resettlement is the service leavers responsibility, if you cant be bothered to sort it or are put of when someone says they 'dont think' that you can do it, then its your loss. Its a step in the direction of civvie street, where youll have to make your own decisions.
Obviousley your course provider choices are limited when it comes to using your ELC, but make you decision and stick with it, of course be prepared to write a supporting letter if the course you want is abroad or if CTP do the same course but not in the area that you want.

Its good to hear you got through the bollocks and are getting your 1st choice

Im on the same route and hope to be as lucky or jammy too with my 1st choice

Am in the same boat, just sent letters and all paperwork off today. If they refuse to let me go on the course I am prepared to go go the full way as it's pretty disappointing that as already said that some pen pusher can dictate what you do and not do. MBE springs to mind.
