Just listened to this Radio 4 program and wanted to say well done to Brian Tisdale, ex-SB for raising the issue of standards.

The SIA failed again to properly answer questions but prefer to pass the buck.

as for the sia i think it was a case of bill butler not knowing the answers so he had to pass the buck.

regards

premier

The SIA don't know the answers and the passing of the buck is now standard policy for them.

Interesting they say 7000 have licences but 10.500 have done the course. Are the 3500 without licences because the SIA take so long to get them out or are they job centre persons who having done the course, have got a CRO so cant get the licence.

Just listened to it whilst I was having a dump, (appropriate time I feel) and agree with Rich that the only interesting and truthful thing said was about the poor standards. The thing I found a bit of a laugh, was the young female doing her course. Just listen to what she actually says and you will understand. This comment was during her course. Quality!

Jacquie, the latter is probably correct in that they have been refused. Another thing that the TP's forget to ask before training them. I understand it's business, but why on earth train someone that you will no doubt pass not knowing their full back ground. "There you go lads/lasses you now have a certificate because you attended my basic course and we don't care if you are a criminal"

I guess she gets the last laugh...she was employed 2 days after the course finished on a full time retained position with a middle eastern royal family, and has had to turn down three other long term contracts since then.

I wasn't questioning her employability Harry, and understandably you are protective. My comments were purely on what she stated on the Interview, whilst still training. Anyway, well done to her for getting employment and good luck to her.

She obviously received the correct training!!:D
