Hi all.

Before I get rambling I would like to point out that I am not army or police or special forces and neither am I a walt. I have never played airsoft, paintball.

That said I do have an interest in firearms. I wont try to pretend it is for some serious reason, put simply they look cool and go bang. That does not mean I do not approach the subject with total respect however.

What I am planning is to visit czech republic to shoot some rounds. I would like to take my reasonably decent camera and make some fun youtube videos. When I mean fun I mean respectful and safe fun, not pretending to be some hard ass special forces man or rambo. I am not a pro and wish to make that clear. I am very aware that many security pros look down on civilians adopting the posture of a professional. I am not that person and concede to the views of people who do this for living. I will not turn up in full camo with unit patches.

I am aware that there are companies who offer stag type things, however I was looking for something a bit more tailored with the option of purchasing ( via the range of course ) extra ammo to shoot.

for example 100 rounds through glock 17, then onto ak47 or some other rifle. Perhaps four hours in total.

Filming would be amateur, no films crews, clapper boards etc. Just a very high quality souvenir for myself. In a nutshell a tourist experience but with a professional approach with permission to set a camera and tripod.

My reason for asking here is to maybe get some tips or perhaps be pointed in the direction of someone who could facilitate this. If any one had concerns that I am a nutter ha ha I had Sia, have zero convictions and full police check. Just incase any one thought I was a bank robber ha ha. Don't mind showing credentials prior to booking. Would any training companies offer a reasonably priced package if they had any down time after training day. Maybe ammo at cost and a nice drink for instructor, range safety officer, plus range fees etc. I dunno, I am just thinking of the top of my head lol.

many thanks for any tips or recomendations.

Darren ( London )

PS. I am not a stranger to armed forces. As driver have done jobs for ta ( horseferry road ), sandhurst academy, union jack club. If you need more details that I am legit please pm me. Cheers

Why would you even bother to go to eastern europe where standards are low, the correct legitimate insurance cover is either inadequate or non-existent when you have professionals on your doorstep? Eurotactical

Hello, thanks for that. Being a non professional I am not overly clued up about insurance and standards, hence my post. One assumes when dealing with firearms, even informally, that folk would have proper insurance.

I have seen euro tactical mentioned on forum and they appear to be top quality, however I am concerned my plans may not be acceptable to them. I am looking for the mid ground between " visitor experience" and instruction. If any one from eurotac sees this post I would welcome any comments in case an accomodation could be found. I may give it a few days then drop them a line.

Thanks again sct, I will def keep my wits about me with insurance.

Well, like us, Eurotactical are all about the student. Don't write them off before talking to them. Email them at info@euro-tactical.co.uk or call them on +44 (0)2032838040

Nothing to lose by asking :)

Just so you know, Space Coast Tactical LLC has no business relationship with Eurotactical. We just think they are the best choice in Europe.

London Chap,

If it is not job related (of course its not, your in the UK) and you just want to safely send some rounds down range then do not waste your money with an industry related firm. There are 100's of ranges all over Europe who offer what you are looking for.

In regards to Praha you may want to consider another location.

Hi Ivan, no it def not job related. I went for prague as I read someplace that the republic has fairly liberal firearm laws. Some place close to german border would be better as any trip may be run from Germany as I have contacts there for visiting. If anyone does know a reasonable priced and flexible range ( pref outdoors ) then any tips would be great. I would perhaps prefer someplace rural and with a gritty compound feel rather than indoor and all high tech. Outdoor better for video. Thanks to posters, you have helped me consider options.

Anyone remember the name of the crown In Norn Iron that does the training etc. don't they have some auto/fancy kit.
Begins with M but can't for the life of me remember what they are called and apparently they're not bad for this sort of thing.

Yeah I do not blame you wanting to fire out doors, I have never been a fan of indoor ranges my self, complexes and houses are great but just indoors is not my thing.

PM me and I can send you the numbers to some ranges in Lux, Swiss, Germany and Italy that have a wide sellection of weapons you can lease out. If you really want to go all out I know some ranches in Texas and Mexico that can certainly give more footage than you are looking for.

Minerva firearms training Northern Ireland. Far as I know they have 5.56 a and 7.62 along with a range of pistols etc.

Londonchap,
First off !! get rid of the British disease of making excuses and explaining yourself, the normal problem of British shooters who are embarrassed or ashamed of wanting to shoot firearms ? Great to shoot ,lovely to shoot ,no need to explain yourself, you are within your right to train and be trained and become competant with weapons,no need to apologize to anyone.
Good luck and train well.

I am off to Prague as we speak and visiting a specialist firearms range.

I know the instructors are first class, the set up is professional and the facilities have full insurance requirements (they have to for who they train..).

If you pm me your details, I will have someone contact you.

:) Other countries don't have "liberal" firearms laws. The UK just has no freedom

Not only are they good blokes but they respect your own training allowing for more unorthodox drills that other typical ranges would restrict you from doing for 'H&S' reasons ;)
