your right enji 1986 a lot has happened in between those years more hostile environment stuff has gone on people have a better understanding of tactics and risk and threat assessments (well maybe some do). Im not slagging any provider off but if it comes down to how much money you have in your pocket and what your after is a SIA CP licence and no CP training provider in the UK can give you a full bore hostile environment package anyway so on top of anything you might have to pay the "Big Boys" for a training package that will give you a CP licence which in effect is driven by SIA guidlines for what needs to be in a training package
if you want Hostile environment you will have to pay seperately for that anyway. but pound for pound what symbiotic deliver out wieghs what you pay. If you want to trot out to or anyone else want to choose a training provider because thaey have been going for 20 years (and why wouldnt they be going for 20 years one of the biggest suppliers of students is the MOD who foot the bill that affiliation is a licence to print money). but all im saying is if you want cost effective realistic training at realistic affordable prices that will give you the same qualification at the end of the day as any other well known or long standing training provider whose training is as under as much scrutiny from the SIA as any other then why not use symbiotic? the guys who do the weapons at symbiotic amongst other things are ex SO19 and ex French specail forces you cant get on the list of SIA approved training providers unless you are one. Like i say its not rocket science if you want to go and spend £4000/£5000 on an SIA approved CP course good luck to ya but if you want to get a few mates together and do an SIA approved course for £1000 for each person i know where my money would be going. At the end of the day when you rack up to Kabul working for Aegis or Armorgroup what anorak is gonna be asking what company did you do your CP training with? unless your a complete plum and if your a plum hopefully you aint getting past the interview stage for those companies (hopefully although i have met a few).
