On a similar note, I can't seem to find the thread "will I get my DS license even though I stole from my previous employer?"
Or word to that effect,
I'm sure SCT and TMAC both posted in it, but it's vanished, or I've lost the ability to find things, another thing for me to worry about.

Not wanting to point out the obvious but 59 Missiles doesn't equal 59 holes, the use of multiple strikes on a building kills that theory.
I did think there could of been more damage to the runways but I'm confident the US targeted exactly the areas that would cause maximum disruption with minimal casualties...
Remembering this isn't an act of war but rather a reminder that the world is watching and will no longer standby doing nothing, as they had been!!

On a serious note, as premier pointed out, what happened was multiple strikes on a single target. If you look at the after action photos you can see that planes were in reinforced hangers and the only way to take out a bomb resistant hanger in a single strike is with a BLU-109 or a tactical nuke, the maximum conventional payload of a Tomahawk is only 1,000lbs

According to the almighty wikipedia one missile goes for 1.87 $millions so the rate $/boom is not much appealing but if you can not deliver by b2 or can not risk lives (american lives this means) I imagine that is fair enough to spend some cash ordering new missiles, everyone has friends to thank.

The real reason is that Trump wanted to share and present every person on base with a Tomahawk, 60 where sent, locals got greedy with the American hand outs like always and spread the word, a few others showed up and Trump cancelled one in flight and screw you guys now you all have to share.
The moral of it all was you get greedy and they total your base.
But seriously mate, ever seen a large NATO Airbase like Rammstein, pretty dang big, you want to cripple that places main operations and logistics 60 would do the trick for sure. Now drop as many on a base about a 10th of that size,.
Bet the Russians down the street had a blast watching the show, dropping a base like that makes great bait for Terry and his mates to come along and salvage, you could have a fun little turkey shoot for a couple weeks with bait like that.
I agree, Assad may be the typical tyrant but he’s not stupid, he knows any ‘chemical’ type attack would provoke a counter and strong response from the Western leaders. There was no tactical or strategic advantage; quite the opposite. I also agree with the Ruskies view of leaving him in power and letting them sort it out. History repeats itself and the glaring results of overthrowing long standing regimes with no real opposition group to take the power void (Saddam and Gaddafi) speaks for itself.
He does now. With obama in office Assad did what he wanted because obama had no balls. It's a different kettle of fish with Trump, and a learning experience. I'm just hoping this doesn't turn into a dick measuring contest.
