I am looking for an earpiece and mike with two earpieces for Motorola twin plug preferably 3 wire. I just cant hear in venues with loud music with one ear piece, must be my age.:(

Thanks Starlight but still not what I am looking. I was hoping to find a system with two earpieces or acoustic tubes.
Failing that if I could get a T piece small enough and join two tubes to make a headset
If not I am just going to tell them to turn the volume down :-)

Wouldn't that be slightly dangerous/counter-productive, if you have everyone chatting in your ear you wouldn't be able to talk and listen to someone on the floor.

I have joined two acoustic tubes and it is working very well. When on normal work I only use one of the tubes but when I go into the louder parts I use both. I have had no problems hearing people when they are talking to me and if I do it is only a matter of popping one of the earpieces out.

I know you jest but I have used ones like those when in charge of a Response Team and they work well. I have taken photos of my Heath Robinson twin acoustic tubes but cannot get the photos onto this site. If someone can tell me how to get them on I will post them

Here are the Heath Robinson modifications I have made to my earpieces, The clear parts of the earpieces are glued with Araldite, simples:cool:

As posted elsewhere, for the past 3-4 years I've used ear plugs, not yer cheap 24 pairs for a quid ones but SureFire EP4 (google them). They're about a tenner a pair but they are the dogs doodahs. Kills all the percussive sounds above a fixed decibel, but enables you to still hear conversations around you. I started wearing them in nightclubs where we didn't use radios, but when we started with the comms, you pull the little plug out to let the comms thru.....simples! And when you get home, you don't have to wait an hour for your ears to stop ringing!!! Try 'em, you will be amazed. ;)
If you use in-ear comms, you just take a plug out and insert the earpiece. With your other ear plugged, it 'focuses' your hearing on your comms. If you use over the ear type comms, leave both plugs in.

use your standard with a small in ear ear defender worked well for me in the past and my hearing is shot to fook from my time in an sf platoon
 
I dont wish to come across in the wrong way, but a good acoustic ear piece if correctly used, (fitted to the ear so the acoustic tube is kept taught from collar clip to ear), you should have no problem with hearing over background noise at high levels (and was designed to deal with such environments). These acoustic ear pieces are designed only to work at their best when tube is kept taught, and if you are using your ear piece correctly and your radio is working correctly then you may need to book yourself in for a hearing test, if im barking up the wrong tree then my apologies and maybe someone else may of learned something lol.

A make i have used for years is the "otto" ear piece, great quality and parts can be removed and easily replaced if damaged. Cost new £40 to £60, as someone mentioned Vestguarduk can supply a similar good quality ear piece for around the same price and are a very good supplier.

As long as you dont buy the cheap clear tube ones for nightclubs your ok.
I wear ear plug in my free ear anyway -Works for me
