The camp is massive mate and it has a cinema laundrette burger king pizza hut etc the accomodation I believe is still tents the food in the cook house is the dogs ballocks and the gym is good too. Anything you need is on the camp mate there is also wifi it wasn't working when I was there last, it should be working now? The rotations are probably 12 on 12 off 6 days a week and the positions have come available because EODT lost the contract. Stay safe and see you out there with the rest of the lads...

Lads..

With regards to LOA's, (This is your Passport in to Iraq and also includes what Privileges you are entitled too i.e. DEFAC, MWR, PX, MEDICAL etc) it can take anything from 3-10 days from the date of Application to the Contracting Officers Final Signature, it's not an overnight process,

However this can also be delayed if you have been in country before and was assigned to another Project and the LOA Rep for that Contract failed to take you off your last Contract...

Hi to all!
Just wanna inform you that have recived approved LOA from Melissa and waiting for travel.See you all soon. Take care and good luck to all of you!
Can maybe somebody show me this kit list?..Have recived mail from Shane but without the kit list. Thanks!

looks like it on woo hoo hope its the weekend me not back of a contract till Wednesday lol if a few of us go RV bar in heathrow airport departure lounge ... when we get the details if any one wants me mobile pm me

stay safe wullie out

Your LOA's will mean Jack shit if you're name is also not on the MOI visa application list, and if you also don't have the correct passport details, or no spaces left for the said Visa, we had some guys deported because of admin issues....

If you're coming in Mil Air, which I doubt the LOA's work, but BIAP is a strange beast now, with more rules and regs than you can shake a stick at, don't lose the cool with the Immigration guys either, otherwise it'll take you hours to get through, be prepared for lost luggage as well, the normal hiccups.
There are also rumours on other forums, from former EODT head shed types that SOC are struggling to fill these slots, which means EODT for their faults could keep this contract, so you all need to be aware that your feet on the ground might be short lived.....
For those who have arrived in country and those who are about to depart, be the gray man, and don't be gobbing off until you're feet are under the table, and have proven on the ranges and in the fizz tests that you're relaible, but knowing that at the moment it's all about arses on seats, there's going to be a few choppers amongst you, who all think they're HSLD dudes, who will bluff their cases big time......watch your backs fella's, stay safe and frosty, and have fun over the Festive period cause I'm off back to the UK on the 22nd........;)

Shane,
could you give us a run down of a general day for us? and whats with all the ugandans? are we working with them or looking after them? whats the rotations etc?
Many thanks

This is something I don't get, some of you guys are going down without knowing your rotation?
For me this would be one cornerstone, think if you have vacation only after 6 months, 8 months?

Same as not knowing which weapons you must be able to qualify with without any in-country training.
You go down and bum with weapons or PT, you will find it difficult to get down with any company after they have shitlisted you.

Talking about foot got caught between the door bigtime.

Make sure you have your ducks in the row, and the go for it.

Bottom line, you're a Guard Commander for what will seem like a Battalion of Ugandans, and most of you will find yourself on the night shift, 12 hour shifts, factor in meal times etc you're talking about working 16 hours a day most days.

I agree with you Kurt..... due diligence chaps, if you're not familiar with the M4, and M92 Baretta you'll be shown the door if your weapons drills are mince, add to this the Yank system of instructions and drills are different from the ones Brit Mil uses, and this can cause "clashes" with your "instructors".
Fizz.......if you can't pass the basic US Army Fitness test, you'll be on the first plane home, no acclimatisation either fella's, so no excuses for failing, and some of you WILL fail, because your face will not fit along with potential egos and attitudes.....

Some of you are going to be very disappointed when you see what your role within TWISS II is, and will most likely sack it after a short time.....

however best of luck lads...........you will need it, and an open mind as well
