Recently i got dared to walk / backpack around the world.
It's just my thing and would love to.
So thinking about it and having quite some discussions, it would be a great opertunity to raise fund for certain charities around the world , my thought go out to WWF and support groups that help in war zones like the red cross etc.. civil rights .. etc.
Still discussing that.
I would love to hear some thoughts about it and maybe some people come up with some ideas.
basic goal wil be to get worldwide attention and raise fund for the problems around the world for both nature and human rights and simular problems around the world.

Also i am interrested in supporting groups that financial or otherwise could support this.
I will in the next weeks have contact with some of those organisations and have their opinion about it.
On my list but still considering are national geographic , discovery and some human right organisations .
If anyone has an idea of organisations (local or global) that may be of any help to me please list them here too so i can look into them and maybe contact them.

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
President of the WWF
C.O. Buckingham Palace.
London.
England.

In mho the world is well aware of its problems, but doesn't give a shit.
You're on a security forum, charity begins at home, we need to look after our own,
especially those who have looked after others and paid the price.

A guy recently (within a couple of years) completed a circumnavigation of the globe, using only human power. Walk, run, cycle, row etc and it took him 13 years to complete.

Good luck with it and good effort.

We'll have a collection for a bigger gun for Dodger, he can shoot the arsehole poachers further away.
I'd march for that.

lol let me guess.. he stopped at every city weekly having another week or 2 rest and recovery :)
It ofcourse depends on where you go and how you go , still if i can make it possible i would do it.
Backpacking on only human power will take ages yes..

Years ago the idea came up to do a survival tour through alaska or the americas . i had postoned the idea because of some problems i won't mention here.
I ain't getting younger and i still wish to do a tour , pure survival or not.
Discussions going on for a long time about it and it keeps comming up.
I figured if i want and going to do it anyway , there always be some organisations that may have interest in it , if only for the publicity.

I see many are not that positive about the idea.. beats me why tho.
I want to do it for personal reasons , but sinse i am going to do it sooner or later anyway i figured that it won't be a bad idea to see if there are any contacts, people etc interested in it.
Ofcourse i am on the wrong forum about it here , this is a forum about security.. not charity lol :D.
The reason i posted it here is curiousity , reactions and thoughts about it from experienced people.

Good luck with your adventure Fred you will need good feet to walk all that way and a lot of will power as there are going to be long streatches when you will be totally by yourself

PS - You going to cheat and use boats to go over the sea or you going to ring the big man above and ask for walking on water advice???? ha ha

lol that's funny , yes because of the long time it would take ,i will use a boat :P , but will avoid it as much as possible
Not worried about the good willpower and feet , i have both

Fred, nice idea mate and good luck. Have a chat with Dodger (MOD) on here. He is involved with a very worthwhile cause and project in Africa and could do with a little support perhaps...
