I really don't appreciate being patronized.
Like you, I'm a Brit. Difference is I don't go and live in America and take a typical Brit superior attitude and then look down my nose at everything American. All we hear from you are stories of past glory, tales of woe and how you hate living in America, yet you don't leave. You do the same thing with this forum, you keep saying you've had enough, you won't post again over and over. Yet you remain. Seems to me you would be unhappy whatever you do or wherever you go. Get a life.
Short update;
We have accepted an offer on the property, and my wife is working with shippers to move much of our stuff back home to the UK. Almost certainly up the Swansea Valley. We have mixed feelings about going, as life here is very good to excellent except for the medical services, and some of the legal system. Both of which are OK apart from the greed of the practitioners. I am sorry that I ever started posting here, but have tried to be honest with my opinions.
Yes I have talked about some of my achievements as I have learned some bad habits while being here, like blowing my own trumpet, but life's a bitch then you die. I am sorry that that has pissed you off and maybe pissed off others on here also.
Am I looking forward to being back in "Welsh Wales"? No. However it is where I met and married my wife of 48 years and we had one child, now living in OZ. I could boast about my achievements there, before we escaped to Hamble via 2 years in Malta.
Since I was 16 years old, I have asked, pretty much the same question, on a regular basis; "Why did 'they' do that, that way? As this way would be better" Now I am 78 years old and still being puzzled on a regular basis. I have discussed with you in email a new and unique rifle action I designed, and I feel sure, the 'quiet' pistol ammo as well. I'm too old to start changing my ways, and new and better things come from people asking the same question. But slagging off someone for becoming the first black president in such a racist country as America, is one hell of an achievement. Your display of your racist tendencies doesn't come close to the opinions of many of my neighbours. Yes, I know we are going back to "Paki Bashing UK" but I can ignore that, even though my last attempt to start a business in the UK was with a Pakistani woman.
But anyway, I shall not change, and nor will you. And as for "Get a Life" I have had several, from which many have benefited more than I have.
