Use of the SIA logo

I realise there are probably not many out there who would want to use the SIA logo but.....

Is there a logo similar to "approved contractor" one for individual licence holders? Take away the "approved contractor" bit and maybe add "licensed CP/DS/SG" for use on say letter headings or advertising.

Or are the SIA protective of their logo?

Thanks

The SIA are VERY protective of their logo.

Why not make one yourself with the words "Better than the SIA"?

It's not difficult...

...nor is making one.

From the SIA web site:

Approved contractors may add the ACS accreditation mark to their stationery, vehicle livery and website.

Any good?

Thanks Customloads but it's not the approved contractor logo I'm on about just similar. Is there any other that can be used?

How so?

I got in touch with them re asking them if I could use it in my book - although I was going to change it slightly. Their response was very firm and strongly 'advised' that I wasn't to use it.

That wasn't my question but would you still be able to use the SIA logo in your suggestion?

Visit their website and see for yourself re their statement on using the logo.

Why are there so many questions on this forum re asking for information about certain things when all it takes is to approach the party concerned directly? Quite baffling.

Isn't it better to get an answer from the horses mouth rather than second hand advice?

I did look at the website but couldn't find the part about using their logo. I have emailed them but I get the impression they are too quick in replying.

I do appreciate your answer regarding your book but there really is no need to be arsey about it. No one forces you to to pitch in. Do they?

I had gone through the post. I came across the companies logo. I found that it was a nice theme for the company and is detailing the companies services. Could you please produce some more attachments for the more detailed view?

quite simply to use the logo, be it in full or part, or design is breach of copyright unless you have permission, for example an ACS.
there are training providers out there who put the SIA on their page, which is technically copyright breach. There are also ones who go a little further with a logo "SIA approved trainer" which is exactly the same as the ACS but with trainer instead. But there is no such thing as an sia approved trainer.

Simply put, steer clear.

Rhea, what is it exactly mate you want to do?... PM me and maybe I can help or make some suggestions... CD
Just someone resurrecting an old post for their own gain but since you asked all I want to do whilst working in this heat is sit on a boat with a fair wind and a clam sea whilst sipping an overly iced Gin and Tonic. Other suggestions greatly received:)
