The Girls Room

Hi Ladies

I've just registered today and I'm looking for any pointers to the best places for CP courses. I've currently been in contact with Ronin Security concepts Ltd and Longmoor. Has anyone gone with these companies?

Lyns, welcome to the site albeit this is a very old post ha ha. Please utilise the search function in the first instance, located at the top right, for answers to questions you may have, info you are looking for, etc.

Check out the "New to the Security Industry - Commonly Asked Questions" forum located here:

New to the security - Commonly asked questions

Also check out the "Close Protection Training" forum for information on training providers located here:

Close Protection Training

Research is the key :)

I know that, however I thought it may be useful info for others on where to look to gain the answers to those questions, that's why I posted it.

Research is the key :)

If I didn't know that it was an old post, I'd not have mentioned that fact in my original reply aye. ;)

Maybe Lyns was put off as she asked some questions and got 0 response back then.

However as we see the same questions asked over and over, someone may take some use from it, or not as the case may be.

Research is the key :)

All female close protection courses

Hey ladies we have our very own room in ask an expert so as well as any advice we can pass around or feel free to ask me we can also exchange views on whats its like to be a female in this industry, blow off steam or even have a whos got the best male butt.

FBG

I am considering doing a close protection course and just wondered what the thoughts were on an ALL FEMALE CP course? Does such a course exist? Is it better to integrate with men or will an all female enviroment encourage more females to complete such courses?

Sylvia

Speak to FBG above but my thoughts would be, you will have to work with men so why not do a course with them so you will at least get the way things maybe run.

I certainly would recommend a mixed course, apart form a few of the Arab jobs all female teams are rare. It is hard for females to prove themselves in this industry, separate courses may pander (unfortunately) to the view that women need special treatment and their skill set is not as high.

Just an observation, not set in stone.

I totally agree all female courses are a waste of time as they are not realistic in the real world of CP. You will normally be the only female on a team so best to do a course that shows that fact.
There are occassionally all female teams but they are few are far.

No worse than all male teams dodger. ALthough I have run a couple of female teams when the client has not wanted men around her, its best to do a mixed course so they can get used to the male egos that abound.

Hi ladies,
Fully appreciate that no-one seems to have been in here for a year! But I love the idea of somewhere where we can unashamedly talk shoes & butts
A quick intro: I'm new to CP World, I know a handful of CP guys IRL and it's their fault I'm now looking to join this industry!
I've worked in the corporate sector for 20+ years and frankly am bored of sitting at a desk all day.
No need for me to ask about courses etc. I've done my research/talked with my 'boy' mates and I'm taking the Excellentia CP + FPOS-i course in March. Currently filled with equal parts excitement & dread. I've also bought several pairs of shoes for this new venture...View attachment 6370
Hope to chat with you all soon

Welcome to the forum and well done on picking a recognised training provider with instructors who actually work on the circuit. If you have CP mates already then you have the contacts you need to get started so good luck and hopefully see you around the circuit> M&S footglove shoes are a must for our job.

Does anyone have any suggestions of where to get suits suitable for security work? Ones that don't have ridiculously small pockets in the jacket, a waist tucked in to fit only Barbie, no pockets in the trousers and belt loops you can just about get a piece of string through. I'm planning to just make my own but its a lot of work, so if I can buy something suitable that may be better.
