Guys

I am currently working in Iraq for a company in the ops room. However, I am thinking that maybe I would to move out onto a team.

Therefore could anyone reccomend a good hostile environments course?

What courses did you guys do and what do you think of them? Did they help in getting yo work?

Thanks in advance guys-any advice is much appreciated!

Cheers

I would have a look at any course run by A company aredited by Bucks New Uni. There quality assurance is far better than anyone else.

I have heard and read excelent reports of Longmoor Group. Was reading a thread from a firearms copper who attended their course and rated the who package highly inc the firearms, think it was dermi1.

Also look at Nemesis Group this is also run by ex RMP so should give you a good hostile environment training package as would Longmoor Group.

CRG do a good Hostile packe I think, but they bleed every penny from you and with them being as big as they are I doubt you would get the hands you would from smaller companies.

Re HE course

Morrigan Solutions International are running a 10 day HECPO/PSD course in Serbia on the 7th June. Alternatively Regal Security Training in the UK are running a 28 Day HECPO/PSD course partly in the UK and partly with us. The 28 dayer is accredited through Chiltern and Bucks Uni and provides the level 3 C&G in protective security.

Morrigans 10 day course is 1795 GBP all inclusive ex flights.

Hi Paul. The best course going by far is Ronin South Africa. As some have said the CRG course bleed you for ever penny and you can only do it if you have had interview. If you are in Iraq in the Ops room mate and getting good money stay in the Op's room. From my own experience the bubble is starting to burst as most companys are now starting to take on locals as they are cheaper and lower insurance. If you get a good CP course and Survaillance course you wont be out of work mate.

Hi Paul,

Ronin concepts from what I hear are the best by far. I am going to one of the open days in hereford tomorrow as I'm looking for a career change from the police. They have been recommended to me by a teams member who's currently in Iraq.

Email me your details and I'll let you know all about the open day

Ive been looking at Ronin UK and CTR. Longmoor look good as well. Anyone been on these? And what is the general opinion?

Moomin I tried to PM you. How did the seminar go?

Paul

The seminar is tomorrow (19/04/08) so will have to let you know. How far are you from Ronin, I'm sure they'd have space for you if you could make it?

It makes me smile to think that some guys on the ground over in Iraq would give their right arm to do an ops room job just like yours Paul haha...the grass is always greener on the other side mucker.

There is no easy answer to your question. As you can see everybody has there own opinion!

Good luck.

PS please tell the other lads in your team/company about the forum. the more the merrier!!

Well the seminar went well matey. There were guys there that had been on other cp courses which weren't up to the standard you'd expect. Good day and very informative. As soon as I can I'll be booking on.

The grass is greener covert monkey, probably the most used saying that's actually correct
