I've never served at St Mawgan, my time on the big red 1 was out at Laarbruch back in the mid 90's.

Sorry , i don't know a Bash. if you let me know his last known location i could do some digging for you.

Hiya Halo,

I'm just leaving now bud on my last lot of leave and resettlement!!! Looking to enter the industry now so looking at courses etc. Met up with a few ex lads at the networking event a few weeks ago, great time and well worth attending.

I'm ex II, 58, and 51 amongst other tours. Left II in 86, left 58 in 91 and left 51 just over 18 months ago.

Looking forward to coming out and starting afresh, PVR'd after 28 years!!! 8 years left but need a new challenge no WO slots for young thrusters apparently!!

Anyway dude, good to hear from other guys out there, anyone in the industry willing to give some pointers I'll gladly accept.

Ape is a FS now and was at High Wycombe. He's just gone to JCTTAT (Joint Counter Terrorist Training and Advisory Team), down in Folkestone, Kent.

Still serving, for the second time. Joined up originally in 1989, was on A-Flt 1 Sqn from 90-93, B-Flt 15 Sqn from 94-96, D-Flt(SW) 3 Sqn from 96-99 and then went to RGDT at Halton. Left the mob in 2001 and went civvy for a few years then rejoined the mob in 2008 (aged 37) and had to go back to Basics day 1. That was an education I can tell you.

Currently serving on 34 Sqn at Leeming. Not long got back from a 7 monther at Bastion, which was the second tour there since arriving on the Sqn in Oct 2008.
 
any former gunners here especially from South Wales, we are running a Health & Safety First Aid at Work 3 day course on the 14th to 16th of September 2011 in Ferndale, Rhondda, cost is £130.00 per person and all monies will be going to the Rhondda Branch of the Royal Artillery Association.

If I had that sort of money then I might not have joined back up again. I was working as a personal trainer and the credit crunch was killing my business. To be fair though I was actually missing the job and the lads. I also missed shooting stuff and blowing sh1t up (mortars you see)

I tried rejoining after a year of being out (was only 29 at the time) and the bastards told me I was too old... nothing like a war to change their minds about the maximum joining age eh? Anyways... keep your head down, stay safe and well done!!! Thank you for doing for a second time what so many won't do for a first time...
