Welcome mate, I myself am new to both the site and the industry. In two days of gleaming through the knowledge here, i've learnt so much more already.

Welcome to the world of uncertainty, deceit, backstabbing and abuse. After 7 years of being at the forefront of this industry, I have become somewhat cynical and cautious. However I am extremely passionate about ‘security’ and feel disgusted at the general state that it is currently in.

More regulation, background checks and discussions are required on individuals and companies that offer "so called 'professional security services'. It’s great to see new people joining and I welcome each and every one.

My advice if you take it or not would be to give 100% all the time, stay true to what you believe in, separate right from wrong, speak up and ask if you don’t know or aren’t sure, learn from others with good reputation and standing and hone your judge of character skills, as they will be needed at every corner. You will learn the hard way on many occasions and find your own feet in time.
There are a lot of disillusioned individuals and companies out there. Be very very careful and good luck.

exactly well said mate... come on and do the research then after that ask questions if you still need help.....welcome to the forum mate you'll find everything you need and make some mates along the way ;)
