Alright gunners

New on here. left the regt in April 2012 with a little regret after serving for 7 years with 34,51 and a bit of time on search and rescue. Looking to get in to the cpo world now . Booking on a hecpo course with longmoor in may. Seems I'm in the same boat as a lot of folk when starting out as to weather or not there is work out there. But I guess we will soon see. You never no.

Any thoughts and comments appreciated

Hi welcome to the forum, yes you are in the same boat so to speak, ideally do your research on what work is available before investing your cash, it may be you have some very good contacts but if not it might be risky just to book a course blindly.
Just a tip mate its RAF Regt not " The Regt" might save you some grief on here, all the best

Use the search bar to find out information on the relevant courses within CP. What course have you looked at so far mate? Im sure you already know that a course is just a tick in the box and real work will come from networking, networking and more networking!!

It's an increasingly crowded market now, both at home and overseas so do your research and choose your Training Provider well. It shouldn't make a difference but it does, because standards and reputations in the industry are at an all time low as far as training goes, so be careful. There are quite a few 'take your money' merchants who teach little more than the book tells them too then dump you five seconds after you walk out of the door on the last day. Reputation is vital when it comes to finding work.
I haven't done HECPO so can't comment, but a lot of people on this forum have so use them. ask the questions and sieve out the answers.

Most of the guys here have already highlighted the important things, but one thing I noticed is your location.

99% of the work is London based and thats where you ideally need to be. Not always, but it does make life easier for you and future employers..
