SSO course

Cheers mate,
i am sure shipgaurd will appreciate it as well. As i am sure they are aware there is a lot of personnel on this site shopping for maritime courses at the mo, if you make it hard work for your potential customers, they will go elsewhere.

MSS says it can also provide qualified ship security officers with armed capabilities as 'single-hatted' onboard entities, along with high velocity weapons to deter the most determined attackers.'

Interesting statement, this would all be legal and above board then I take it? How does the weapons permit work between the Oman and Yemen? ....methinks this is wishfull thinking at the moment, unless there's customs clearance for Armed Sea Marshalls in their waters, if this was the case a lot of other companys would have ebd user certificates to allow their Sea Marshalls to be armed.........legally I might add ;)

a good point Argyll, they may be referring to another theatre of course?
From someone i know working in the GOA at the mo, armed escorts are virtually nil?
anyone else got different experience?
Stay safe
Scotti

As you are now aware, Argyll, we (Shipguard Ltd) have this cracked. All legal and not only above board, but on the bridge wings, with no weapons from the flea markets in the nations you mention.
Enjoy your current trip and we'll have a beer on your return, courtesy of Shipguard Ltd of course!:)

Shipguard/MSS are a well respected maritime security company. A friend has just returned from Ops with them and was highly impressed by their management team (minus a few jokers on the team with the usual crisp CVs)

Crisp CV's? as you're aware I was on that gig, PM me for the details of the jokers, as I know there were 4 guys with solid HRE backgrounds on this one.....I know I can put my money where my mouth is.... ;)

Can you tell me how many Operation Jobs this company has done and how long they have been going, I have done a little bit of research and can't seem to find much out about them.

A mate of a mate of a mate, so to speak has said that they are a new company and only have done one job and the company selected a TL with very little or no maritime security or operational experience, which if true, worries me.

I would be grateful for some assistance from the members of whom I can contact.
