Just for info, I've just done my instructors update course for the PHTLS 7th Edition. Its a completely different course to the 6th edition with less lectures and a lot more practicals. Thoroughly recommended! :D

Where did you do your PHTLS instructor refresher? Also is there any instructor courses in the UK?

Cheers,

ST

Instructor courses are run in the UK at any number of PHTLS registered centres in the UK mate. There are not that many instructors so few courses are running. I waited nearly two years for mine! LOL. Its also not just a case of passing the course. You have to be recommended as an instructor.

Thank you mountain, I've passed my PHTLS certification in France, but I'll pass it in the UK next time - better networking.

Hi Gang

I could make a close protection PHTLS course if there was interested peeps enough. Need at least 12-16 participants, that are willing to come over to Denmark for the course. The course would be in english, three days. PHTLS all the way, proper certificates and NAEMT registration.

Let me know if you are interested

Mike,

Why not just teach the Military PHTLS course? A lot of the similar PHTLS stuff but more details on GSW's, Blast & Ballistic Trauma, Catastrophic Bleeds etc etc. Any centre which is eligible to run normal PHTLS can teach M-PHTLS as long as your instructors know what they are talking about. :) Unfortunately, we don't currently run these openly to the public as we are too busy, but we do run them for other agencies. Perhaps in the future.

Hi MM

I agree that the mil-PHTLS could be an option. However it is not taught at the moment here in Denmark, a decision by the PHTLS board here. I´m trying hard to persuade the board to change their minds, believe me. I wonder about exchange of instructors ? IS that possible as it is in ATLS ?

Ill be MDing the first PHTLS provider course based on 7th edition starting next monday, very exciting to run the course with a lot more practical sessions.

Stay safe everybody

Yes, its a lot better! Better than the 6th Edition death by power point, although the 85 (ish) Disability slides are hard work. Definitely a Doc's presentation :D

I don't see why there couldn't be an exchange of instructors as long as the language barrier could be overcome.

I'm in the same boat as Murf... Have a week downtime... Looking for a course, PHTLS will give me CPD weight and up the CV... Anybody know of 1 starting within the next week?
Have looked up a few and either the dates dont suit or they are full... Accredited by NAEMT Or RCS please.
Thanks for any replies..
