Recruitment

I note a distinct lack of actual employers using this forum for recruitment needs

Maybe that's because they actually have a database with everyone who's available with their contact details on it and don't feel the need to advertise openly ? ;)

It's also a bit rich calling guys keyboard warriors when you don't know a single thing about them, or their background, or experiences, try exercising a little due diligence instead, your coming here and doing exactly what you're accusing everyone else of doing ;)
I'm pretty sure I said before anyone solicits work here, they should be vetted, as there has been several guys/organisations offering work, and NOTHING has ever come good of it, so members here have every right to be skeptical mate ........it's called due Diligence

I'll take what you have said, as some valid points and likewise, I'd hope that you would take what I have said as valid points. As for databases, well we'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

A company has a database, calls up the people/sends out the email and quite alot of them will not be available. So in this instance, an employer has chosen to use a forum. It works on GSI and it works on NASP. Word of mouth and recommendation have always been my favoured method of recruitment.

I may have been a bit rash in using the term keyboard warriors, but like you said, we don't know anything about each other and anyone can be anyone, due dilligence is one thing but slating is quite another.

As for employers having their databases and thats why they don't use these methods for recruitment. I think if you dig deep, in past posts, its because a great many are too quick to jump on the band wagon and slate a company.

Opinions are like a**eholes, everybody's got one, and that is mine.

@Bandook. I think your right that we should take it easy because sometimes there are some legit companies posting adds and if we scare them of, well they will not put any more jobs out for us and they will find workforce elsewhere.

But I can however understand that some are a bit pissed since there have been so many times companies offering this and that but never came through. I for example have been in that position 3-4 times and been promised women and riches.... I think it is a good thing to question as long as it is kept in a mature and constructive way.

What do I think? Well I can hear a few of you already saying "who cares what you think" This is what I think. If a company chooses to advertise positions on this forum then its up to them. You are all old enough to sort out for yourselves if the job offer is worth a look or not. If its not then leave well alone. Even if one person gets a job out of any ad on here then its a result. I have cut and pasted jobs on here and I know for a fact that two people got the jobs they applied for. (they PM me to thank me). Maybe Eos should of used their database to contact their own guys, that is up to them. I did my SSO with another company and I have nothing to do with Eos. I just happened to start reading your threads. So all of you put your handbags down and behave.

You have obviously missed the hole point, their is no one that is against companies or individuals posting job offers. But when we notice things that could be in the best of interest to the members here we have an professional obligation to protect the forum and its members. This was not a normal job advertisement, then no one would have botherd at all. However coming in to cpw with the first posts that they recruit staff, and have no contracts in place, and then ony accepting their own training program, and it raise some consirns especially advertising that they have need for a trainer do catch my eye and others too, in all honesty guys should be thankful that we do try to help out and warn members.
Since this is still in my eyes fishing for students nothing else.
But if members here whant to find out the hard way would it have been better that 40 guys have trained with them and later find out that there is no jobs? Should the members find this out by their own, or I thought that we here on CPW was going to help one and other and especially advice newbies that is searching for entrance, advices and our experience..
But I might have been very wrong, and if youre saying we shouldent warn members here when there are suspicious posts..youre telling me we shouldent bother? OK..

Funny you should say that about warning others on here. I put a thread up some time ago warning of a scam in Nigeria, it was removed?????
I also came across another thread that had a slating from a member, and it was in full view for all to see. The guy that put the thread up was a friend of mine, so I knew the thread was good but a few on this site jumped on the bandwagon because of what one person THOUGHT was correct. The slating and questioning turned out to be unjustified. The guy who was questioning the thread later remove their thread and would applaud him for that, but the damage had already been done.
I am not saying that we should not warn each other of scams but if its just someone's opinion, it should be stated that its just an opinion unless there is proof that something is wrong. I am not having a go at anyone on here by the way. If some one was having a go at you for instance I would not take it as read but would enquire as to why you were getting slated. I think we all mean well at the end of the day but lets not be to hasty over something until all the facts are in. Word of mouth is a powerful weapon and if EOS are not on the level it wont take long for word to spread.
If any of the 200 EOS trained guys can shed any light on this then please add your say on here.

Well thats fair play, however I dont track every post and message on CPW and surely you cant blame me for what others say, that they can answer for themselfs.
But no one stated anything on this tread but we raised our consirn and rightfully so we asked questions since there are alot of question marks. And the answers given didnt favor me that I can tell. Nor am I a moderator and cant remove posts.
I dont say that company is good or bad dont know them, I wrote what I felt the advertisement was all about getting interests up for their own training program thats it nothing else and we seen others do the same here before using the exact same way. Lets wait and see what all the students say, that is already registerd here!?

Guys,

I must have been one of the first to apply to this advert and I did my SSO with John at IMSALTD. It appears I've been invited to interview next week, Yes it may come to nothing but for me it's an interview.

"Thank you EOS"

Gents,

this subject appeared in another thread a few weeks back.

If a prospective employer state they want their future employees to have this and that qualifications and criteria then surely that is up to them?

Why is it that when something like this appears on here there are so many 'opinions', observations and comments....some of which get pretty personal.Guys (and Gals)...I am not sexist...When some of us see things that ring alarm bells then rightly or wrongly, depending on your perpesctive, will have a say...now if that makes me a 'keyboard ninja' or disrespectful to those who want to shout loudest then so be it! As I said in my other post some of us have a little bit of experience in this 'game' and I use that term thoughfully, because, in my view, it is a game and unfortunately there are some out there who will take advantage of the unwary. I have no personal axe to grind with any reputable potential employer and as I already said good luck to EOS, but in my personal opinion, it is not wise to start chucking your toys out the pram on a public forum like this and if you found that there were not thousands of people beating a path to your door with applications for your course, then that should at least impress you with the fact that some guys are just not so desperate for work that they will jump at any chance. I have seen it before and given that some of the Contracts offered in HE work are now so lowly paid and with none of the basic protections in place which should be, there should be more folk willing to question, rather than try and shout down what are after all simply the voices of reason.
