I would like to thank CM and the rest of the CPW team for organising such a fantastic event. It is the first time I have attended, and enjoyed every minute of it. I arrived with my partner in crime at about 4:30pm in order to be fashionably late / not be the only ones there, but we missed a couple of talks due to this, something for those to bear in mind which want to attend next year.
We also struggled to get around all of the exhibitors in the time given, maybe due to the time we arrived, or maybe we just talked far too much to the exhibitors we actually visited. G4S were disappointing and frosty with their exhibition staff, as soon as they discovered i had no military experience they didn't want to know or spend any more time talking to me, the same with my colleague with 11 years infantry experience, he didn't have 2 tours under his belt, so the same went for him.
The exhibitors and visitors speaking above the guest speakers was a bit of a distraction, maybe we can think of a solution for next year?
Thanks to the guys for the "after party", if only I hadn't spent all my money behind the bar in Angel
I won the Malpeet General Purpose Security Dog (7 day) course with 1 years membership to NASDU, which I was extremely pleased with, and my amigo went away with the IMSA SSO course, so we didn't do bad all in all. Really wanted the £4k worth of gucci surveillance gear but that wasn't to be!
After willing the Malpeet course I went to speak with Stuart Phillips, the UK Operations Manager, who was extremely friendly and approachable, gave me all the forms I had to fill in, along with the dates for the next 3 courses.
It was definately worth the 850 mile trip from Bristol -> Leeds -> London -> Leeds -> Bristol, and only 5 hours sleep in 48 hours!
For those who didn't go this year, you really are missing out, and hope to see you there at the 2011 event!
Yes yes yes knifeandbulletproof, i saw that you had won the tracking kit, it was an absolutely fantastic piece of kit, extremely generous of the company to donate, and they were extremely nice to talk to as well.
What are you planning on doing with the kit then knifeandbulletproof? I spent £100 on raffle tickets and won the 7 day general security dog handlers course, and my colleague spent £20 and won the ship security officer course. Did really well between us.
