What is people's in a rush workout?

This has occurred to me that I don't by any means feel alone in this area. When you haven't got time to fit in a full gym session what work out do people do when they only have limited time?

I like to do a prison workout, and before people comment that is not drop the soap and let me become piggy in the middle. I do 4 x 25 push ups, 4 x 25 sit ups, 4 x 25 triceps dips. I also carry one of them elastic resistance bands in my case no matter where I go so I can do a very limited (home made) gym work out.
I would like hear other people workouts to see if I can adapt mine with something's they do.

I'm normally a "plodder", just get out and run, but after a bout of injury and sickness Ive recently started doing Interval training. Anything from 20min -45min of short sharp exercise. Uphill Sprints until exhaustion, upstairs sprints, Rowing. Found that one of these quick sessions can wipe me out but the overall benefits have been excellent.

Smash out some Fartlek interval training.

Sprint between two set objects like street lights, trees, pylons etc.
Jog back to regain heart rate...

Or find a hill, or gradient to do the same...Smash up hill..Jog down to recover.

Repeat until you are sick..(Optional extra) Nice...

I swing the Kettlebells around.

For a quick workout that leaves me shaking like Michael J Fox, I''l do 3-4 Tabata rounds, doing snatches with a 24kg KB.

Sex.

No really its a great workout.

Not only fun, but it burns calories and can quite often train your muscles, and for some of the kinkier people, it can also help you train up your restraint skills.

Cheers guys for the replays. I should of been more specific, I meant when your on a job and you only have your hotel room to train in for a quick blast of the gun show ;)

10 Push Ups
10 Deep body weight squats
10 full sit ups

on the minute for every minute I have... usually at least 15 minutes

If you miss the start of the next minute, 10 burpees at the end....

In a hotel room with no kit, I'd go with body weight squats, Press ups and Burpees BUT.........Visioneer's idea is sounding much more appealing....

I pretty much have one of those bands and cost me a lot less, more on the lines of £15 from sports direct ha. When I get a moment I may create a 20 minute hotel room work out using pieces of furniture in the room as apparatus. After all it may be of use to someone and I do send most of my days in hotels.

Interesting article littlewoman. We've discussed Tabata's before here and I have been using the protocol since the '90s, mainly on the Concept II rower but I have done sprints and tried it a few times with a light weight for clean and presses. All ways it hurts a lot if you turn on the pressure.

I am not too sure about the last paragraph in the article, where he suggests three times a week. I do it twice, mixed in with a brief weights routine and that is by far enough, if you turn on the heat.

You would do good to start out with six sets and slowly progress to eight over a month or so. Do'nt ever add sets, because all that says is that you are not putting enough into the earlier sets. Done properly you should find it hard to just stand there and get your breath back.
