The quote below us from the BBC reporter not me.
“I am making a documentary for the BBC about the private security industry overseas. It is only when working with the men involved in this industry – and I have worked with many of them - that you realise the extent of their professionalism and the sheer bravery they demonstrate, often in the most difficult of circumstances. Yet these qualities at are odds, it seems, with the image the public perceives of the industry as a whole.
The documentary will look at the private security industry, the kind of guys who work in it, explore the often natural progression for many from the military to the private sector, their experiences of working in hostile environments, what happens when one is injured or killed, the support given to the PSC or their family by the government – if any – if the PSC has been carrying out work for a government contract, the role of the multi-national companies involved, the self-regulation of the industry etc.
I am keen to speak to as many people as possible who have particularly strong feelings about any of the above, or have a specific story to tell. I appreciate entirely the need for discretion and that would be respected absolutely."
